Tennis Boy

July 20, 2011 by Marie Gizelle 2 Comments

Tennis boy

What to do when your kid has a headband most of the time? And not because he's playing tennis or he wants to but he must...He had an accident that he has to wear this headband most of the time until his wound heals. I took advantage of the bandage (rhyme not intended) that the little boy was wearing - took shots as if he's a tennis player and he had much fun doing it too. I've always mentioned that he's a left-handed and that he loves to draw, I never realized that being left-handed is advantageous in tennis too until it was mentioned by a friend. Come to think of it, we've been watching the anime Prince of Tennis and the main character is actually a left-handed who learned to play with his ...

Jenga

Jenga

Or what I prefer to call as building blocks...since in Swahili, jenga is the imperative form of kujenga - "to build". The game's mission is to stack and balance the blocks . Players then take turns to remove a block from the tower created earlier and add it on top, creating a taller and increasingly unstable structure as the game progresses. Above is another version that my kids would do, they just make towers by putting the blocks alternately. :)  -- for: ...

Hüpfburg (Bounce Castle)

Hüpfburg (Bounce Castle)

On Wednesdays in our compound, the department responsible for the development of youngsters' camarederie and well-being  assemble a play area, sometimes football game, wall-climbing activities or a simple bounce about castle playtime. We were supposed to go home then but the kids asked for some minutes of jumping fun... Unfortunately, my older boy got injured - his nose got hurt during a flip but he's alright. We went to the doctor and got an x-ray, we'll be back tomorrow for a check up. Anyway, bounce about castles are some of the best inflatable products for play - most of them are for hire but if you have a big garden it's also a great idea for kids' enjoyment. They're convenient when ...

Trampoline

June 25, 2011 by Marie Gizelle 4 Comments

One of the things the kids and I enjoy together is trampoline jumping. Be it in an indoor playground or outside, we all enjoy jumping around and tumbling until we get tired. And yes, the bounce mat can carry even one as big as me. :D Using a trampoline can be dangerous, that's why there are usually large safety end-decks with foam pads at each end and spotters placed alongside the trampoline to try to break the fall of anyone jumping. It's also nice that the trampolines around here have been modified with nets to reduce the danger of falling off. It is also advised to jump one person at a time...my kids should learn this since they would often if not always jump in together.... --- ...

Xbox 360 Laptop Cooler

June 23, 2011 by Marie Gizelle Leave a Comment

Yes, you read it right. The hubby - a sadistic innovator as monickered by a friend came up with this today. Must be bored!  He drilled lots of holes on the poor plastic replacement case. I'm interested to know if he's gonna install a fan inside or something but for now it's just for the lappy to have a heat escape pod of some sort.   ...
