They say that the only thing that separates the men from the boys is the size of their toys. Boys will be boys, it’s true. No matter how much facial or chest hair they’ve grown, men will always be boys at heart. They will always go crazy over toys and basically anything they can tinker with.
As boys grow up to become men, so will their taste in toys evolve. Their previous fascination for Thomas the Tank Engine will eventually graduate to more sophisticated types of toys. One of these is the RC helicopter. It’s an awesome toy which never fails to make men’s jaws drop, but there are some important things to always remember when flying an RC helicopter.
When you’re first starting out, it’s best to fly your RC helicopter outdoors. The last thing you’d want to do is knock down that precious vase your mother-in-law gave you with your helicopter.
When flying outdoors- or anywhere, for that matter- be careful not to hit anybody with your RC helicopter. Especially for beginners, it may be quite difficult to have full control of the helicopter, so start slow, keep your enthusiasm in check, and steer clear of people. Try to work with the wind, so you won’t lose control.
Crashes are bound to happen. Your helicopter may take off beautifully, and then suddenly crash into your parked car. Arm yourself with some knowledge on RC repairs, or at least know where to take it to have it fixed.
I simply can’t imagine any warm-blooded male who would say no to a remote controlled helicopter. If you give him one, he’s sure to adore you for the rest of his life. Show of hands now, if you disagree! But remember, safety is always a priority. Just keep the above precautions in mind, and you’ll be safe and soaring.
surely loves apple
or it may jammed on a tree too, better to have it fly on a wide open space, my boys has two rc-copters too, expensive hobby eh. they are also into small mechanical race boats 🙂
