The Internet or the World Wide Web is considered to be the most largest research/ reference tool available in this planet. Anything that you want to find can be found on the internet in just a few clicks. This is through the power of the Web Search Engines.
Before we proceed to the main topic, let me first show you a definition of what is a web search engine. I got it from wikipedia.
A web search engine is designed to search for information on the World Wide Web. The search results are usually presented in a list of results and are commonly called hits. The information may consist of web pages, images, information and other types of files.
Based on that definition, a search engine really gives us easiness on using the Internet and when we do need to look or find for something. By just typing keyword/s on the search box and, of course, by clicking the SEARCH button, BOOM!! There they are! Those things that you’re looking for are already in front of you.
This is also the reason why I chose the search engine to be my topic on my very first post on this blog. This is because without the search engine, I am literally blind to see anything from the net. I think, and maybe most of you will agree that the most useful thing in the www is the search engine. And I know you are using and trust one of the hundreds or thousands search engines available on the net.
I have here a short list of search engines that you may like to use. Here we go:
Google (google.com)
It is said to be the most accurate, trusted, and has a high reputation search engine out there. I am also a fan of Google’s Search Engine, LOL! Well, I was just amazed of the searching speed and high accuracy of this search engine. For now, for me, it is the best! But I am not saying that others are not good. There are always time for everyone and different person got actually different taste. By the way, I just want to say that I am not an affiliate of any of the sites being stated on the entire post. I am not paid for this. I wish so, but I am not. I am just trying to give some useful information for all of you guys.
Okey! Let’s go back to our topic. Let’s proceed.
Bing (bing.com)
It is the former Microsoft Live. Well, the leading software company, Microsoft’s product, Bing is on my #2. I like also the speed but when I am doing some research, I am really hating to click the results page 2. So, for me, it is not as accurate as Google’s. BTW, I like their design.
Yahoo (yahoo.com)
Also known to be the most popular web destination. In the past few years, I constantly use Yahoo as a search engine. But later, I think too many hits or visitors make their server slow. BTW, I still visits Yahoo to read Yahoo News.
The aforementioned search engines are those that I already used and still using. To give you more alternatives, I used a search engine to look for some useful information that could be helpful to you, and to me maybe in the near future when demand changes. And here are some of what I’ve got.
AOL Search
Ask
Dogpile
Zuula
PlanetSearch
Alta Vista
Ask Jeeves
Lycos
Webcrawler
Wondering why I didn’t put links on these words? Well, try to use a search engine that you know to look for these sites. Enjoy searching.
