Apple unveiled a thinner, sleeker, lighter version of the iPhone, the iPhone 5! Entirely made of glass and aluminum, the iPhone 5 also has a bigger screen than its predecessors.
Apple marketing head Phil Schiller announced that the new released phone is 7.6 millimetres thick and weighs onnly 122 grams. That’s about 18% thinner than the iPhone 4 and 4S and 20% lighter. Its screen measures 4 inches diagonally making room for another row of icons.
With the new release, Apple says the iPhone 5 will have faster Wi-Fi, along with a faster processing chip or simply put: it will have faster connectivity to wireless networks.
But since this an all new release — the connector used to attach to computers and chargers has also been changed. Thus, the new iPhone won’t be compatible with old accessories. Apple will of course sell a different adapter for the iPhone to work with older accessories.
Fortunately, for those who complains about the previous versions’ battery life, Schiller adds the new iPhone will have a battery that will last eight hours of talk time and eight hours of Web browsing. Whew!
Some more features include:
-an 8-megapixel camera
-three microphones instead of two
-a new version of its phone software, iOS
-a new mapping software (no more google, hello Siri!)
-Facetime video calls will work over cellular networks for the first time
Well, let’s see what’s more to come.
A lot of people are excited foe this phone to come out. It looks awesome!!!
