I’m actually guilty of this, patronizing online games. But since board games such as Monopoly, Scrabble, and Snakes & Ladders became a huge part of my childhood, I know that playing the actual games, seeing and holding the pieces, will always be a unique experience for me. I actually played Scrabble recently, and it was more exciting. I wasn’t getting any computer prompts about possible words to fill, so that challenged me more. =)
Honestly, it’s quite sad that people patronize the online versions more than the actual traditional games. I love Monopolu, Snakes & Ladders, Scrabble, Word Factory and a lot more, but most of my younger cousins don’t even know these. I’m not against online games, but I hope when given a chance, we’d still play the traditional games we used to enjoy as a child.. 🙂

there;s nothing like the good old traditional games. my kids are able to play snakes and ladder, word factory, scrabble but when they learn about online games especially the trending TETRIS which we used to have BRICK games before… balewala na sa kanila.
