One of the games I gave the kids a go signal to play is Little Big Planet. They get to be creative choosing or making a character and the fun starts then and there.
So you need to create a character from a Sackboy or Sackgirl – named such for having a texture akin to a sack — they actually look embroidered and I’ve attempted to create one over the years. No luck…or no time.
There are a lot of real video game characters that players have tailored. There’s Cloud from Final Fantasy, there’s Sephiroth and Reno too. There’s Snake of Metal Gear Solid, Mario, Wolverine, Spiderman, or the lead in Assasin’s Creed. Our favorite of course would be from another favorite game, Locoroco. I actually used this as my profile photo and tagged the rest of the family. Pink is A, I’m yellow, C is blue, D is red and Daddy is black. They totally love it!
Since the game has an online multiplayer option, we get to meet a lot of unique characters, funny or scary, cute and well, unique.
As for the game itself, well we love that we can also make our own levels, and use the “cartons” for props. lol. We really love the graphics and audio in this game. So the Sackboy is supposed to finish levels…we have 4 controllers connected so I get to stay behind and watch if Daddy’s at home. The Sackboys can jump, grab objects, run and pick stuff. The kids love picking stickers and they use them to design the Sackboys. In the game, they are free to create, customize, destroy, edit and manipulate levels; and, finally, to share creations — via online sharing.
And they’ve recently released this for PSP! 😉
