Sitting all day can’t do good to your back. For the many months most of us have been at home, this holds true. Sitting long gives you backaches, your legs don’t get enough stretch time, and if you have a not-so-good chair, it might lead to overall body ache – as one is connected to each.

While a normal chair will work when you’re eating, it will be detrimental for your health to sit long on such chair during classes or while drafting your plates, even when playing games. You’ve surely heard about the science of ergonomics and we might both agree that it’s good to have one if your work require you to sit for a long time. Ergonomics, or human engineering or biotechnology as most commonly known, is the discipline involves the study of how objects can be designed to best compliment easy and safe human interaction.

That being said, we collaborated with Flexispot for this post. We were sent the Flexi-Chair BackSupport office chair BS1B which was really easy to assemble. It took around 25 minutes from the moment we’ve laid out the contents of the box until the photo to the left : all ready to be used!

Adjustable Seat Height

When the seat is too low, your elbows will be below your desk or table’s surface, this is not ideal. You will be stretching to reach your desk, phone, and keyboard. Comfortable Seat Width and Depth

A chair should have enough width and depth to support every user comfortably, size and height-wise. The seat width and the depth (from front to back of the seat) needs to be enough so that the user can sit with his or her leaning back against the backrest, many websites cite 17-20 inches for this.

Seat Tilt Function

A chair should have a backrest feature that recline to reduce the pressure on the spine, allowing you to relax and reduce the strain on your back as a whole.

Proper Backrest Lumbar Support

There should be curves on a chair’s backrest. Lumbar support curves avoid flattening of the spine that happens mostly when seated, it is used best in connection with a tilting seat.

Backrest Recline

A good chair needs to have reclining backrest while not working forward (keying or writing). This allows the backrest to take some of the weight of your upper body which in turn reduces the pressure on discs and muscles.

Swivel

The swivel in an ergonomic chair helps users with their maneuverability. Swivel chairs may have wheels on the base, which allows users to move the chair around their work area without getting up (it’s not being lazy, just effective). It’s summer, compact and foam back support can be annoying. Truth be told, this is the first time that we’ve had a breathable back support chair and it’s amazing. The mesh makes it easy for air to pass through but is still very stable. Thanks to the craftmanship this chair has been made with!

Easy Assembly

Needless to say, the Flexi-Chair BackSupport office chair BS1B came carefully packed and parts separately packaged to avoid scratches. As mentioned above, it took around 25 minutes to assemble with some minor errors – and my daughter was the one mainly doing the work. The manual that came in with is easy to follow and our youngest boy is happy, so is our beloved cat!
