We enjoyed a day out in the sun, our now 9-year-old daughter said she wanted to try running the BIC kids race. It’s a 700-meter mini-marathon for kids aged 8-9 years, and so we registered her for it. Before and after the race, the kids enjoyed other games too. We also met with a friend and her daughter so they enjoyed the games together. There were free balloons, even free cornflakes given out by the Kellogs Tiger Mascot.
The race and the event was held at the Prater Allee, near the Stadium.

Blowing Bubbles
Which child would say no to blowing bubbles? The kids get to try blowing big bubbles – it’s a good lung exercise and it’s fun to follow the bubble you create around until it pops.
Marathon
Our daughter was confident that she would finish the race fast enough, we told her it’s alright and just go slowly as long as she finished.
She did finish the race but she had side pains while running so she had to stop a little bit. Nevertheless, she finished way ahead than the others and so got a medal for it.
We definitely should have done some stretches and warm ups. And reiterated that it’s ok to not end up first as long as she finish the race, and not finishing is also ok, as there’s gonna be a next time.
Water Bucket Game
This game is where they have to transfer the water to the other bucket using plastic glasses with holes! It was fun to see the little boy try his best. He did get frustrated at some point though.

Sack Race
Eskimo (or Selecta as we know it), sponsored a lot of games, and provided the equipment and prizes too. Yeah, there were a lot of red stuff around, the color of Eskimo…the sack for the sack race was no exception.
Hula Hoop
The hoops were also in red, the kids were really proud that they can do the hula but the little boy was too small for it. He was also hungry so he ate a muffin instead!
Drawing Tent
When it got hotter in the middle of the day, we decided to go to the tents provided by Eskimo and let the kids draw and color. They also got to try face painting!
The kids were’nt familiar with the Parachute Game but they enjoyed watching the other kids. Hopefully, we get to try them soon too.
There’s also an Eskimo Bounce Castle in the playground, much to the little boy’s delight. He enjoyed it the most as he doesn’t have the patience to play other games yet. Our daughter, being the doting older sister that she is watched him, bouncing along too.
While not a lot of food booths were set up, there’s a crepe stand, sandwich booth, and others with sausages and sweets. It’s a good thing that we always have water bottles in our bag, the kids get to hydrate often. Later, we met up with the Kellog’s Tiger Mascot and they got free boxes of cereals!
